Are there any rules on your group boards?

Yes! We have 3 major rules:

  1. Pin on topic!!
A board full of advertisements and irrelevant content does no one any favors. It muddies up the feed and lowers the board's performance. For example, in a gardening board, how to plant tomatoes is on topic, but how to make a wreath is not. No ads, giveaways, shop pages or spam.

  2. Share the love 1:1
With the introduction of the smart feed, simply being on a group board isn't enough. Pins make it into the feed when pinterest sees engagement on the pins. So for every pin you share to the board, engage with and share another blogger's pin.

  3. Mind the feed
Group boards are meant to benefit everyone, and monopolizing the feed undermines that. Don't pin more than 5 pins consecutively.

What happens if I break the rules?

We understand mistakes happen, so we have a 3-strike policy:

  • Strike 1- you will receive a warning and your pin will be deleted

  • Strike 2- your pin will be deleted without warning

  • Strike 3- your pin will be deleted and you will be removed from the board.

What are group boards on Pinterest?

Group boards work just like regular boards on pinterest, except the owner of the board can invite other people to collaborate and pin to the board!

What is the benefit of being on Hometalk's group boards?

Hometalk has close to 1m followers on Pinterest and averages more than 10m monthly views. Being part of our boards means more exposure and likely a significant increase in traffic to your blog! Traffic to your blog means the chance to convert those people into new and engaged readers!

In addition to traffic, you get to strengthen your blog's online presence and interact with other bloggers in your niche.

Are all boards open to new collaborators?

No. We open our boards periodically and on a rotational basis. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to find out when a new round is announced!

How do I get added to your board?

Because space is limited, we will be working from a "waitlist." To be added to this list, all you have to do is fill out a quick form!
